After the park and mark, HPR Solutions embarked on a new project via Autotrakker and the Berlin brothers. The company was approached by AET to develop and provide a solution to accurately measure Break Bulk Cargo to loading their ships at a docksite in Antwerp.
They were looking to automate this current manual and inefficient process.
Like all shipping you are charged by weight and volume. The cargo industry had an issue to measure size and volume of non standard items quickly. Could this be automated ?, save time and offer proof of shipment.
A plan of "how to do" and division of labour was formulated but project funds was limited and had to keep costing down.
It would involve 4 scanners and complicated scan stitching.
Funding was very limited but there was a large marketing opportunity.
A familiar problem for most startups with a good idea.
Do you seek finance and have a 3rd party controlling interest ? or find another way.
Unless the equipment was built and demonstrated to work, then there would be no future.
We pooled our resources and skills to make it work and much was done outside normal working hours.
There was a risk that it might fail, but the understanding was that if it sold well, then parties would be financially compensated for work in lieu.
As the project development was coming to a close and the first site deployment, The elder brother died and passed away. Some 6 to 9 months after the younger Karl also died.
